Helicobacter pylori

Drs. Robin Warren and Barry Marshall received The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2005 for their discovery of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori and its role in gastritis and peptic ulcer disease. This important discovery underscores the need for accurate testing for this organism in gastric biopsies, which is routinely done at Spectrum Pathology.
