Surgical Pathology

Procedure Description:

Spectrum Medical Group, Pathology Division, provides Surgical Pathology services, the evaluation of solid tissues removed from patients, to diagnose diseases or pathology.  This evaluation typically includes a "gross" (i.e., macroscopic as seen by the naked eye) evaluation as well as a "microscopic" (i.e., viewed under a microscope) evaluation in making a clinical diagnosis relative to any potential disease.  The pathologist works closely with your physician and acts as a consultant to your physician in providing your care.
