Radiation Therapy for Benign Conditions - Keloids

Procedure Description:

Keloids are non-cancerous, fibrous growths on the skin that may occur following injury to the skin. Following surgery, your physician may recommend radiation therapy as a safe, effective treatment to reduce the recurrence of keloids after they are surgically removed. A few low-doses of radiation therapy prevent the fibrous growths from growing and dividing.
