Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Radiotherapy for Brain Tumors

Procedure Description:

Stereotactic Radiosurgery is a non-invasive method of treating brain tumors without the difficulties of surgery and long hospital admissions. The radiosurgery technique uses highly precise equipment and three-dimensional computer planning to focus a beam of high dose x-rays to the desired target volume in the brain. The treatment planning process is complex and requires a multidisciplinary approach led by the radiation oncologist and neurosurgeon.
